The Will Erwin Headache Research Foundation Donates $500,000 to Memorial Hermann Benefitting The Will Erwin Headache Research Center

The Will Erwin Headache Research Foundation was excited to present a check for $500,000 to benefit The Will Erwin Headache Research Center at the Memorial Hermann Mischer Neuroscience Institute in the Texas Medical Center. This gift is the fifth and largest check presented to Memorial Hermann in the quest to help find a cure for debilitating headaches.

In memory of their son, Will, who took his own life at the age of 24 after a lengthy battle with debilitating headaches, Jimmy and Pam Erwin founded The Will Erwin Headache Research Foundation in May 2014. Over the past few years, The Foundation has donated a total of $1.5 million to Memorial Hermann to help establish and fund The Will Erwin Headache Research Center which opened in 2016 as the first-of-its-kind national headache research center.

“Since 2014, our mission has been to find a cure for debilitating headaches. This research is so important that we keep pressing on to reach our financial goal by 2024,” said Jimmy Erwin, President and Founder, The Will Erwin Headache Research Foundation. “With the help of our gracious donors and the expertise of the medical professionals we’ve partnered with, I believe we will prevail.”

Debilitating headaches, including cluster headaches and migraines, are a global issue that affect millions worldwide. The Will Erwin Headache Research Foundation hopes that one day no family will have to endure the pain of losing a loved one to debilitating headaches.
